Cybereco is a reference in cybersecurity in Quebec and Canada.
Founded in 2018, it has over 20 member organizations and focuses on improving the cyber-resilience of businesses and individuals
Following the successful implementation of the BadgeIt! technology in 2024, the goal for Cyberconference 2025 was growth.
This year, the event increased its in-person attendance to approximately 1,500 participants. In addition, the logistical complexity grew significantly with the addition of a second venue, Le Westin, alongside the usual Palais des Congrès de Montréal.
Our client needed assurance that BadgeIt! could scale, to manage both the larger volume and the multi-venue operation, while maintaining the speed and security standards achieved in the previous year.
Finally, the event featured 15 different types of tickets, each with a specific badge design. This meant our system had to be fast and accurate, to print the correct badge immediately for every single attendee.
Cyberconference decided to give BadgeIt! a larger scope of work for 2025. This means that aside from badge printing, we also handled the design and flow for check-in kiosks. Ultimately, this let us provide an optimal check-in experience.
BadgeIt is your all-in-one badge design and printing solution. Fully integrated with popular registration platforms like EventBrite or Swapcard, it gives event organizers complete control over the badge design process.
With BadgeIt!, Cybereco was able to fine-tune badge design for each ticket type, and keep an eye on metrics such as badge reprints, check-in progress, and more.
This year, we took on the key job of planning and laying out the check-in area. Specifically, we carefully designed the flow, including where the kiosks and lanes would go. This was vital for handling the 1,500 people arriving quickly during peak times.
Ultimately, our goal was to prevent queuing and unnecessary delays, to avoid any attendee frustration and let them focus on enjoying their event.
Adding the second venue created a new operational challenge. That’s why we set up and ran a second, separate check-in area at the new venue. This operation proved that we could run two desks at the same time, sharing the same centralized source of information.
Attendees at both the Palais des Congrès and Le Westin experienced the same fast, easy badge printing service.
For this event, we managed 15 different ticket types, each with their own badge design. Thanks to BadgeIt’s easy-to-use interface and automated processes, our check-in staff was able to instantly pull and print the correct badge for every attendee, based on their ticket type.
These visual differences on the printed badges also allowed for better access control, thanks to different colors or visual markers on the badge itself. Ultimately, this participated in maintaining the event’s security levels, effortlessly.
